Remarks: Zamites* is a plant belonging to the cycads (Cycadatae). Plant fossils are generally very rarely found in Plattenkalk (lithographic limestone) deposits. The specimens offered here originate from an inaccessible site; consequently, fossils from this location rarely appear on the market. This therefore represents a unique opportunity to add such a piece to your collection. Comparable fossils are otherwise known only from the French Plattenkalk deposits of Cerin. The slab was broken and has been reinforced.
